On 24 April, amendments to the Road Transport Law will enter into force, introducing changes to freight and passenger transport by bus.
The main new changes:
- The Law on Road Transport has been supplemented with the types of offences for which administrative liability is imposed in the field of freight transport and passenger transport by bus, as well as changes to the amounts of penalties.
- The definition of carrier has been clarified to specify that a carrier may also be a cooperative society, in addition to the previous definition that a carrier is a trader, farmer or fisherman.
- The amendments to the law stipulate that not only the carrier, but also the consignor, the freight forwarder, the contractor and the subcontractor must comply with the conditions for dispatching the driver when establishing the conditions for the provision of the transport service, as well as administrative liability for non-compliance with these conditions.
